About us
We don’t know how Darrin spent his early life. His story
begins in Pickerington Ohio, when he was found in below zero
weather. That’s when a good Samaritan stepped in. Darrin was
brought into a warm home and given lots of food, water and
love. But what about all of the other unwanted cats and
dogs?
In January 2003, the good Samaritan gathered a group of
concerned individuals in Fairfield and Franklin Counties to
organize a new animal shelter. The Board members of New
Beginnings Animal Shelter received their Articles of
Incorporation and began planning for their new shelter. We
were granted our Federal Tax Identification Number and our
501 (c) 3 Tax Exempt status in 2003. The last two filings
with the state have also been completed. Our goal is to find
land and build a shelter. Currently, we are using a foster
care system. Fundraising is underway! We receive no
government funding. Our revenues are generated from private
donations and fundraising efforts.
It is the goal of New Beginnings to end the senseless tragedy
of euthanizing healthy animals. Our no-kill policy means
that animals will not be euthanized as a means of population
control or a matter of convenience. However, for an animal
that has no hope for a quality life, euthanasia may be the
only humane option. New Beginnings Animal Shelter strives to
preserve and enhance life.
We need the
support and help of concerned citizens to become as
effective and wide-reaching as possible. We hope you will
join us!
