Annual

GARAGE SALE

We are holding our annual garage sale May 2nd and 3rd.  If you have anything you would like to donate, please contact us at Mail@newbeginningsas.org.  We will arrange for a pick up. Hope to see you there!

Our Featured Pet

Hi my name is Coconut.  I was just hanging out on the streets.  Some teenagers decided to be really mean to me and a lady saved me.  Now I’m hanging out with the cats at my foster home.

We have a blast but I would really like to have a home of my own.  Can I hang with you?

NBAS has an urgent need for reliable volunteers to pick up donated pet food.  Pick ups occur once a month during the week at 2 locations and requires volunteers able to carry large bags of food.   We need to fill this volunteer position immediately.  If you are interested, please contact us at mail@newbeginningsas.org.   For all other opportunities, please fill out our volunteer application.

It's easy to produce 80 million cats!

Just allow two cats and their surviving offspring to breed for 10 years. In that time, you'll produce 80,399,780 cats (this assumes two litters per year and 2.8 surviving kittens per litter).

  • First year: 12
  • Second year: 66
  • Third year: 382
  • Fourth year: 2,201
  • Fifth year: 12,680
  • Sixth year: 73,041
  • Seventh year: 420,715
  • Eighth year: 2,423,316
  • Ninth year: 13,968,290
  • 10th year: 80,399,780

You can help stop these generations of suffering. Have your female spayed and your male neutered.   Be a part of the solution.

Current News

  • NBAS is happy to announce that volunteer, Judy Baker, has been elected as Secretary for the Board of Directors.  Judy has been a volunteer for New Beginnings Animal Shelter for four years. Before coming to NBAS, Judy gave her time to the Capital Area Humane Society and Citizens for Humane Action. Besides giving her time to the shelter, Judy is also an Instructor at Eastland–Fairfield Career Center.  Judy and her husband Joe have four cats; Veeney, Charles, Dutch, and Little Bitz, three of these cats were rescues.

  • We are currently helping a resident of Fairfield County with  medical and spay/neuters for 50+ cats.  Many of these cats have been dropped off by people that no longer want them.  Check back as they will be up for adoption as soon as they are healthy.  The ferals will be released in their environment.  If you are interested in donating to help with the medical bills, please go to our Donation page.
